"Duty of care and driver training neglected by small fleets"

To comply with DUTY of CARE legislation you must:

  • Publish a comprehensive road safety policy that is supported throughout your management team - we will help you tailor a policy to your business

  • Ensure that road risks management procedures are in place, including risk assessments - we recommend risk assessing individual drivers (partly to determine if driving training is actually required)

  • Implement safe working practices that either minimise or eradicate identified risks - we are experts in advising organisations on best practise

  • Ensure staff are given relevant information, training and supervision to be safe on the roads - our training is needs-led, and proven

  • Regularly audit the safety of journeys and amend policies and procedures accordingly if new risks are identified - Bespoke's consultants can help you carry out effective audits

  • Ensure all employees driving on company business fully comply with the requirements laid down by the law with regard to driving licences and insurance - in conducting individual driver risk assessments, we also carry out document and vehicle safety checks.
